A self-cleaning conveyor roller, often equipped with a rubber disc and spiral return roller, is a specialized component in conveyor systems designed to address issues related to material carryback. Material carryback occurs when particles adhere to the conveyor belt and return side, leading to spillage, increased maintenance, and potential belt damage. The self-cleaning roller is engineered to minimize these problems.
The rubber discs avoid the build-up of material that can be deposited onto the roller surface which can cause the roller diameter to develop an irregular worn surface and change shape.
