Conveyor Drive Pulley

Features:

  1. Steady running, reliable quality, and reduced maintenance;
  2. Less movement longitudinally, rotating smoothly, extends the life span;
  3.  Various bearing housing and sealing structures are available for the customer’s choice;
  4. Multipass labyrinthine sealing, preventing the mixed dirt and water immersed;
  5. Manufacturing by steel pipe specially for high precision roller, ensuring a strong load, low shaking, and less noise.

A conveyor pulley is a mechanical device similar to a conveyor roller that is used to change the direction of the belt in a conveyor system drive the belt or put tension on the belt.

A Drive Pulley or Head Pulley is used as a conveyor belt. They are normally mounted in external type bearings and driven by a motor and reducer. Conveyor head pulleys can be flat-faced or crowned and many have lagging to reduce belt slippage. Conveyor drum pulleys, wing pulleys, and spiral pulleys are the most common styles of drive pulleys.

Classification of Pulley

The belt conveyor pulley is the main component of a belt conveyor and could be divided into a driving pulley and a driven pulley according to different usage. The surface could be smooth painted, or covered by rubber.

The driving pulley provides the driving force for the conveyor. To increase pulley life and traction, it often has a larger diameter than other pulleys. The drive pulley is also called as redirection pulley, which is used to redirect the conveyor belt or press it tightly.

Head Pulley gives motion to the conveyor belt. The driving pulley can be at the head end or the tail end, depending on the layout of the conveyor, space available, and loading conditions. It is the head end where generally the belt discharges the carried material and returns for loading. Besides, we offer these Head Pulleys at an affordable price range.

The Tail Pulley is similar to the head end pulley of the conveying system, but the tail end pulley is not attached to a driving mechanism rather it moves with the movement of the conveyor belt which draws power from the head end pulley. The Tail Pulley is located at the tail end of the conveyor and it turns freely.

Snub Pulley prevents belt slippage which means costly downtime. Mounted close to the drive pulley on the return side of the belt, the Snub Pulley’s primary job is to increase the angle of wrap around the drive pulley, thereby increasing traction. Another function of the Snub pulley is to reduce belt tension, which is important in maximizing the conveyor life.

Bend Pulley is used for changing the direction of a conveyor belt or increasing the surrounding angle between a conveyor belt and the driving pulley.

The Take-up Pulley can be moved to keep the belt tight, Take-Up Pulley may be a drive pulley or an idler pulley.
